About Diatomaceous Earth Powder
Green Trading Diatomaceous Earth (DE) Powder is a versatile, all-natural product made from the fossilised remains of tiny aquatic organisms called diatoms. These microscopic organisms have skeletons made of silica, a naturally occurring mineral that is commonly found in nature but often lacking in indoor growing environments. Safety First:
As Diatomaceous Earth is a fine, light powder, it's best to wear a dust mask, eye protection, and gloves during application. While it is not harmful to humans, inhalation of the dust can cause irritation.
 
Application for Soil Supplement:
For Potting Mix: Simply mix DE into your potting mix before potting your plants to boost soil quality.
For Existing Soil: Sprinkle DE over the surface of the soil, and as you water your plants, the powder will work its way into the substrate.
Dosage: 100g of DE is sufficient for a 10L bag of soil mix.
 
Application for Pest Control:
Dry Application: DE can be used dry by sprinkling, brushing, or puffing it directly onto your infected plants. A salt shaker can make this process easier and more precise.
Spray Application: Mix DE with water to create a pest-control spray. Use one tablespoon of DE per litre of water. For best results, let the spray dry on the plant before washing or wiping it off, and wait a week or until the pests are no longer visible.
