BioNeem Insecticide Active ingredient
BioNeem Insecticide contains 10g/litre azadirachtin technical in the form of an emulsifiable concentrate. It also includes 300g/litre neem oil.
Compared to other Neem products, BioNeem contains four times the active ingredient compound in a standardised form.
How does neem oil affect pests?
- Neem seeds and leaves contain many compounds which are useful for pest control. BioNeem is a combination of azadirachtin and a clarified hydrophobic extract of neem oil.
- Azadirachtin disturbs the hormones in the pests affecting the appetite (Antifeedant - insects starve to death) and growth of the pests (Inhibit development into adults), making it hard for them to multiply (Anti-oviposition, less likely to lay eggs on treated surfaces). Neem oil also suffocates the pests to kill them.
When and how should you apply BioNeem Insecticide?
- Because of the way BioNeem works, it is more effective on young stages of insects and less effective on mature insects.
- It is important to cover all of the surface areas of a plant. Insects will find the untreated spots to feed on and survive.
- Mix 1 ml BioNeem with 1 litre of water. Please read this label for detailed information.
- Apply two to three sprays about five days apart. For preventative treatments, spray every three to four weeks.
- Neem biodegrades in sunlight, water and by microbial activity in 7 – 10 days.
Give your BioNeem a boost with Enspray 99
- Enspray 99 is a food-grade paraffin oil that controls most stages of sucking insects from eggs to adults. It controls them by smothering, thus killing existing insects instantly.
- BioNeem will suppress the re-establishment of insect pests.
- Mix together 2 ml BioNeem with 8 ml Enspray 99 with1 litre water.
